One of the friendliest dancers I know, Miki has exuberant energy and made our photo shoot such a delight with graceful and beautiful moves and poses. I’ve known Miki only a few years and life has taken her to many exciting Tango adventures! Get to Las Vegas you might catch her dancing to Bachata or Argentine Tango. Here’s a bit of her story and all about her love for this profession – DANCE.

4. YOUR TANGO JOURNEY: I started
Tango to learn another form of social
dance after dancing salsa and other styles
for many years. After a few years, I competed in
the Official US Tango Championship in
San Francisco for the Stage category and
placed first in 2018 with Michael Thomas.
I Continued my training and once again
competed at the International Tango
Summit in LA and placed first in Salon
and Triple Crown categories. I’m continuing my
training in Tango as I work at studios,
shows, and events as a professional
dancer and performer.

5. WHAT IS YOUR FASHION STYLE ON
THE DANCE FLOOR?
I’m always in yoga pants due to
daily rehearsals, I love any
opportunity to dress up! I’ll wear a
full dress or a bottom with a crop top to
show off my long torso. Sometimes I
like to get crazy on the dance floor so the
more comfortable the better!

6. TANGO PET PEEVE?
When leaders sing in her ears while they
dance.

7. WHAT DRIVES YOU TO KEEP
DANCING?
At first the challenge in this art form kept
me coming back. Now that I
understand tango, the connection
that happens in this dance compared to
other social dances is what brings me
back. It’s also a gentle social dance I
can go to after a long day of work dancing
other styles.
